Laptop and Books for On-Campus Students
At TBS, we are committed to providing the best resources and support for our students’ learning and academic success. As part of our comprehensive student services, we allow students to borrow laptops and books to assist them with their study needs while on campus.
Students can borrow laptops and books from our Student Support team at Reception for the duration of their time on campus. This will allow students to have access to laptops with the necessary software and applications required for their class work. These laptops provide students with the flexibility to work on assignments, conduct research, and collaborate with peers, both in and outside the classroom. By offering access to laptops, we ensure that all students can fully engage in the digital learning environment and make the most of their academic experience.
On Campus Wi-Fi
Our campus boasts comprehensive Wi-Fi coverage, ensuring that students have access to a stable and secure network connection throughout their time on campus. Whether they are in classrooms, libraries, study halls or common areas, students can easily connect their laptops to the campus Wi-Fi network or borrow a school laptop and be connected.
By providing a fully Wi-Fi enabled campus, we empower students to leverage the vast resources available on the internet for their academic activities. With their own laptops connected to the campus network, students can engage in online discussions, work on group projects and share resources seamlessly. This digital connectivity fosters a dynamic and collaborative learning environment, where students can exchange ideas and learn from one another.
Moreover, the campus Wi-Fi enables students to stay connected via various equipment such as phones, laptops, tablets or iPads. To ensure the security and integrity of our Wi-Fi network, we have implemented robust measures to protect against unauthorized access and maintain student privacy. Our IT department continuously monitors the network, updates security protocols and provides technical support to students to ensure a smooth and secure online experience.
Student Suggestions
At TBS, we value the opinions and experiences of our students. We understand that constructive feedback and suggestions play a crucial role in improving our services, programs and overall student experience.
To provide an accessible platform for students to express their thoughts, we have implemented a dedicated Student Feedback/Suggestion Box conveniently located in the front office area. We believe that by offering this avenue for communication, we empower students to actively participate in shaping their educational journey and contribute to the continuous improvement of our institution.
Once the feedback and/or suggestions are received, our dedicated team reviews and analyses them on a regular basis. We carefully consider each submission, identify common themes, and take appropriate actions to address the concerns raised. This may involve implementing changes, initiating discussions with relevant stakeholders, or providing additional support and resources where needed.
The Student Feedback and Suggestion Box serves as a tangible symbol of our commitment to student satisfaction and continuous improvement. It reinforces our belief that student voices are invaluable in shaping the educational environment and driving positive change.
Student Complaints and Appeals
All students have the right to make complaints, and to appeal against decisions. Students are informed at orientation, on noticeboards and through the Students’ Handbook, as a minimum. Should a student be unsure of where or how to make a complaint or require assistance with accessing and/or completing Complaint forms they can seek support and assistance from any TBS staff member. All students are advised that their agreement with TBS does not remove the right to take further action under Australia’s consumer protection laws. TBS’ dispute resolution processes do not circumscribe the student’s right to pursue other legal remedies.
A complainant may make a complaint orally or in writing. At all times, TBS will make every effort to accommodate for a student’s English language ability and cultural knowledge.
Details of the complainant will be kept confidential and disclosed only to the people directly involved in the process, such as the managers handling the complaint. Such details will not intentionally be communicated to other students or people outside the organisation except in the case of government agencies and departments requesting the information or performing an audit. All complaint registers and documents relating to the complaint will be kept in a secure file to maintain confidentiality.
Principles of fairness will be exercised throughout the complaint/appeals process and the student’s enrolment must be maintained during the complaints and appeals process. Where the matter is an appeal against a decision to report a student for unsatisfactory course progress or unsatisfactory attendance, this includes any period when the issue is under consideration by an external body.
Student Kitchen, Dining Area, and Common Space
At TBS, we prioritize creating an inclusive and supportive campus environment. To meet the diverse needs of our students, we provide essential spaces such as a student kitchen, dining area, and common space. The student kitchen is equipped with modern appliances and utensils, allowing students to prepare their own meals and snacks. Within the kitchen, our welcoming dining area offers seating for students to enjoy their meals together, fostering connections and a sense of community. We also offer complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate and milk to fuel and refresh our students. Microwaves are available for heating food during lunch or dinner times.
At our institution, we are dedicated to supporting our students throughout their educational journey. We encourage all students to take advantage of our valuable resource, help and support services and make the most of their time on campus.
